We have a special guest joining us called Yvonne Monro-Jones, sound familiar, well that’s because Yvonne is David’s lovely wife.
Yvonne has a B.A (Hons) and is an Exams Support Assistant, so she is ideally placed to join us for this round table discussion.
Briefly, Yvonne is responsible for being aware of current and future examination requirements, ensuring that staff and students are aware of the regulations, supporting and coordinating entries for external examinations, setting up exam rooms and being present at the start and finish of examination session, giving instructions to invigilators and students. Key actions include dealing with complex examination, sending, producing and responding to enquiries from staff, students, parents, exam boards and third parties. She is also responsible for applying for Special Considerations, Access Arrangements and requests for modified papers as well as liaising with the examination boards as required.
Where required Yvonne has the allocated responsibility for the checking of pupils’ attendance for their examinations and on occasion has travelled to their homes to collect them and bring them into school. She is also responsible for organising Invigilators to go out to offsite pupils entered for examinations and to be present on exam results days to assist with the preparation and issuing of exam results and to deal with queries from students, staff and parents.
Yvonne has qualifications in psychology, counselling, Transactional Analysis and is a trained Samaritan (serving on the directorate for a period).
