How does Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) combat stress?

Throughout our lives, we experience many stress factors. Our response to them differs based on our life story. For most of us, being assessed creates another one of those stress factors. All any of us want is to be comfortable and free of painful feelings and memories. 

You can achieve that state with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) otherwise known as ‘Tapping’. EFT is an alternative treatment for emotional distress, physical pain, bad memories, trauma treatment and stress release method. It is a gentle yet powerful mind-body method. It combines the physical benefits of needless acupressure with the cognitive benefits of conventional therapy, resulting in a more complete treatment of emotional issues, and physical and performance issues. 

EFT helps reduce stress and anxiety; it allows us to transform the way we respond to uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, and troubling memories or upcoming events such as an assessment. It helps us rewrite the self-sabotaging narrative we keep telling ourselves on a subconscious level, which creates more stress.

I’ve only had one EFT session with Petra for now, but it was surprisingly good, although I was a bit sceptical in the beginning. Petra really knows her stuff inside out and always knew what questions to ask. Highly recommended.

Simple and effective healing

I use tapping to assist people to reconnect with their inner resources and develop better coping skills for stressful situations such as an assessment. I love this method of self-help, it is simple to use, and is known to provide great support in staying present or helping us through stressful situations (think of it as an emotional first aid tool). This is not to say EFT is a magic tool and resolves issues in one session. But it does allow us to connect with the stress that is blocking us at a deeper level as well as acknowledge the possible root cause of it.

Whether you experience a single, or multiple EFT sessions, the aim is the same – to find the place where this healing can take place and you create space for the next step in your journey. 

Obviously for the purposes of this webpage, we’re here to highlight EFT as a support for pre-assessment nerves. However, EFT is helpful for a multitude of issues such as:

  • stress management
  • phobias
  • trauma
  • painful memories
  • fear
  • anxiety
  • emotional part to physical issues
  • lack of confidence
  • low self-esteem, self-love
  • anger management
  • clear patterns of self-sabotage
  • future events

I love working with different energy techniques and energy psychology to contribute to the well-being of others and the wider community so I’m here for you as and when you need pre-assessment support.

I believe in the order of love of equal give and take (as it is called in Systemic constellations), therefore I don’t want finances to be an obstacle if you feel that this work is calling you.

Consequently, I offer one session per month to my fellow IAPC&M members on a donation basis. Sessions are normally £70, however a minimum donation of £30, or as much as you can afford, will be welcomed with a warm heart. Your generosity would allow someone else, who is stopped through a lack of finances, to benefit from a session without feeling indebted. We always have support around us, it just doesn’t often come from the direction we expect it and in the form we expect it.
