Every professional coach and mentor is an ambassador for our industry. However, a small team of us have gone a stage further and become committed volunteers; accordingly, our aim is to support other like-minded coaches and mentors to achieve their goals of being recognised as the best in the industry. How do we do that? By supporting our practitioners through their accreditation journey, helping them to grow a sustainable business, and putting them in front of prospective clients who appreciate the value and importance of hiring accredited professionals. In this post we meet Dawn Campbell-Director of Sales and Marketing.

What do I do?

Like most IAPC&M volunteers, I’ve been around the block; I started as Editor of our then award winning newsletter, later I became Head of Accreditation, now I’m Director of Sales & Marketing. So my role is one of supporting the rest of the organisation to achieve its aims & objectives, which includes, meeting the needs of our growing international membership of professional practitioners, as well as helping the public that hire us.

Why do I volunteer?

All my life I’ve volunteered, there’s something special about being of service, like someone said, ‘you can’t have a perfect day unless you’ve done something for someone without expecting anything back in return’. Another truism from the legendary funny Lucille Ball is ‘If you want something done ask a busy {women} person to do it. The more things you do, the more you can do’. That’s me!

What can I do for you?

I help practitioners to get a positive return on their investment. One of the ways I achieve this is by helping them to raise their profile within the IACP&M and on social media. Contact me when you are ready to achieve the same results, and we’ll enjoy a tea/coffee, or in my case a smoothie sometime on Skype.

One of my favourite quotes

I’m a collector of quotes, so this is super hard for me, regardless, it has to be one from the beloved Dalai Lama which is kind of relevant to the topic of volunteering, not least it shows off his great sense of humour too ‘If you think you’re too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito’. I just love that; no matter how small we think we are we can still make our presence felt!
