Do you have writing articles on your to-do list? The best way to build your writing skills is to do what Stephen King says, to write and read a lot! In this article, I want to talk about writing. Next time we will talk about reading, one of my favourite things to talk about!
Today, I would like to encourage you to read and write for the International Coaching News magazine (ICN) The ICN magazine is a great way to build your CPD. The magazine is always jam-packed with really useful practical and relevant articles to help build your coaching skills, AND you can submit your work for publication.
Why writing?
When you run your own business, you want to think of creative ways to get your message ‘out there’. Writing is a great way to showcase your expertise. It’s a skill you can learn and it’s not as ‘instant’ as a video for those of you that find that a bit more challenging. With writing, you can organise your thoughts over time.
There are a host of benefits for writing for your business. Here are a few top ones to get your cogs whirring:
- Writing helps you to stand out from the crowd
- It establishes credibility and positions you as a thought leader
- It helps you to attract dreamie clients because they know what you do and how you can help
- It showcases you and your business
- People can read your work when you’re not there, you could even be sleeping!!
I’m excited to share that my article about a ‘Wacky and Unique Tool to use with clients’ was featured on the front cover of the latest copy.

The article template is just an information piece that can help make structuring your content easier. You don’t need to use it if you don’t need/want to.
